Principal’s Message

Principal’s Message

As we conclude the school year, I want to both thank and congratulate our students on the tremendous efforts they have made and success they have achieved during the unprecedented circumstances of a term two unlike any other. When we parted ways for March break I never dreamt that we would be ending our school year in this way.

As principal of St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School, I look back on this school year, during unprecedented times with faith and hope.  This year has been filled with many challenges and blessings.  We have journeyed together through an extraordinary year with love and perseverance.

Thank you to the outstanding Staff of St. Patrick CES for your commitment to Catholic

Education. Each day you demonstrate creativity, innovativeness and a joy of teach-

ing. Thank you for all your dedication and compassion. While this has been a time of sudden transition and adaptation, I am very proud of how all of us at St. Patrick CES, especially our families, have continued to support each other and work to help our students succeed.

Thank you to the beautiful students of St. Patrick. You brighten the days with your

enthusiasm and love of learning. I am proud of all that you have accomplished so this year. You’ve become more resilient and strong and have become expert as virtual learners!

Thank you to our vibrant Parent and Parish Community for all your fine efforts. We

are so blessed to be surrounded by a supportive community, who are so willing to

share their wonderful gifts with us. Thank you to our Catholic School Council Co-

Chairs Dan Carmichael and Stephanie Ware and the CSC, Father Dominic and the

Parish team, Catholic School Trustee James Ecker and Superintendent Laura

Sawicky for your ongoing support.

May God bless our Grade 8 graduates. Although we did not wish for our Graduation to be postponed until the Fall, may you feel the respect and love we have for you and all your accomplishments. May you always have faith in God, faith in yourself and faithful dedication to achieving your goals. May you continue to celebrate your many gifts. May you be inspired by the words of Pope Francis: “Do not bury your talents, the Gifts that God has given you. Do not be afraid to dream big things.”

We thank the following teachers and staff members who will be leaving St. Patrick at the end of this school year, for all their hard work and dedication to our school. A fond farewell to our staff who did an outstanding job in their Long Term Occasional jobs this year: Ms. Belfiore, Mme Comeau, Mr. Federici, Ms. Milne and Mme Mongillo. Congratulations to Mme Boissonneau, a longtime French teacher with St. Patrick, currently on a leave of absence to pursue graduate studies on the occasion of her retirement from YCDSB. We will miss these valued staff members and we wish them continued joy on their journeys.

Until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
