St. Patrick is buzzing with excitement for its new Spelling Bee team. Students from grades 4 – 8 have been invited to participate, and we currently have a team of about 30 students. All of the students are eager to show their spelling skills and will be taking part in weekly practice from January through to the final competition. Spelling bee members will begin by learning words at their grade level and then progress to learn all 450 words in their study package. The thirty members will then take part in a written bee that will result in 15-20 students qualifying for the verbal bee, which will take place in the school gymnasium at the end of February. The top 5 finalists will then go on to the ‘Big Bee’, a regional competition being held on April 12, 2019!
