Each year, the “Catholic community of Ontario engages in a week-long celebration of the unique identity and distinctive contributions of Catholic education during Catholic Education Week”. This year, Catholic Education Week will be celebrated from May 2 – 7. This years’ theme, Nurturing Hope builds on last year’s theme and calls for us to reflect on what nurturing hope means to each one of us. The theme also calls us to reflect on the many ways that we can nurture hope in others.
Each day, our Catholic school communities will reflect one subtheme:
Day 1: Preparing the Earth
Day 2: Sowing Seeds of Gratitude
Day 3: Cultivating Relationships
Day 4: Harvesting New Fruit
Day 5: Marvelling in Wonder
St. Patrick CES is very proud to celebrate Catholic Education Week through prayer and special activities throughout the week that we hope helps to nurture hope in our greater learning community. We will begin our week with a Virtual Drumming and Storyteller presentation. The remainder of the week will also consist of Mental Health and Wellness Activities, Catholic Education Liturgy, a special message of hope from our St. Patrick Parish, a read aloud from our Teacher Librarian Ms. Pellegrino, a Food Drive and so much more. Please find attached a highlight of the themes and activities we will be celebrating as a school community, and be sure to make note of some recommendations of supplemental activities that can take place at home.
We thank you for your continued support and commitment to Catholic Education, as we attempt to nurture hope in our students and one another.
